Edible Education Project
Funded by the National Lottery Awards for All fund
In 2019 Edible Education will work with 4 communities across rural Shetland, bringing together parents, community members, teachers and children to learn how to make their polytunnel work for their community. Each community/school/parent council will be offered:
- 2×3 hour workshops covering: undercover growing techniques & planning a growing programme, focusing on sowing, planting and harvest times appropriate to the school year. Participants will leave workshops with a plan tailored to their growing space
- 1×2 hour workshop for children and adults in the polytunnel learning how to sow seeds, and look after plants
- 1×2 hour site visit for troubleshooting
- Ongoing support via social media, telephone or email for concerns or queries.
